Used Mercedes Benz In SportAugust 3
Once upon a time, a sport would exist purely as a sport. You know – something where individuals or a team would go out on to their relevant territories, and use physical prowess or expertise to beat the opposition. This seems, of course, relatively common sense – football is always going to be about physically hitting a ball with your foot with the aim of getting goals, in the same way that Formula 1 is going to be about driving a car around a ring in the fastest time possible. Winning, or losing, is the lifeblood of all sports, and to think of a kind of sport that doesn’t actually involve any form of physical exertion seems very strange indeed.
This is, however, where the world seems to be going. Sport is still undeniably popular, but fewer people are playing it in the real world, and more and more people are starting to play in online, or on computer games. This all started, really, in the 90s, when suddenly computer games reached the masses, and when some lucky clever soul realised that you could easily turn our favourites sports into games to be played online or on your TV. And so football games and companies like EA Sport were created, with the soul purpose of making sports into computer games so that people didn’t have to leave their sofa in order to be able to play at world class standard.
The evolution of this fake kind of sport playing can be easily tracked. Technology got better and better, increasing the realism and viability of such games. At the same time, I think it is fair enough to conclude that the nation as a whole has gotten steadily lazier, and although many people do do some kind of sport, the option to have fun with your mates in the comfort of your own home must be a great back up option. Racing games got more popular than almost everything else, and it is even possible to race people in games if you are just a little kid. In fact, some of my favourite games are of this type.
Now, not only do you have the individual games, but you can play online with all your friends, or with complete strangers. There is also a marked increase in the availability of fantasy leagues, which must stem from the same kind of origins. Football fantasy leagues have been around of years, but now Mercedes have actually bought out their own Formula 1 Fantasy game. Now the website doesn’t just sell new and used Mercedes-Benz, but offers you the chance to take part in something that actually doesn’t have much to do with the sport of Formula 1 at all – or to do with persuading you to buy a Used Mercedes Benz either, as it happens.
So, what is next for sport that isn’t sport? Well, gaming has got a bit more physical following the introduction of games and consoles such as the Wii, so maybe everything will be virtual but physical. Who knows!
