Used Audi – Prestigious CarsJuly 31
It has often been argued that buying a used Audi is a pointless exercise, as you’re paying well over the odds for a car that is essentially no different to any of its rivals. Well, is this true? Do used Audis make good second buys, or is it simply not worth it?
Well, one should never generalise when answer a question like this, but I would be tempted to say that the answer is yes. Why is that? Well, Audi’s are prestigious cars, and often the property of very proud owners. Proud owners would never disrespect their car and often have full service history for their cars – a big bonus when it comes to buying a used Audi. What’s more, as notable prestige cars, many Audi’s have spent their life as company cars – being used (and not abused) by businessmen. Again, this would have meant that the cars themselves have been well looked after. Such ex-company models are most often found in auction rooms, but if you find yourself a good one, then you’ll find yourself a used Audi you can really be proud of.
Audi is famed for its stereotypically German engineering – engineering that directly transposes into reliability. Used Audis commonly boast over 100,000 miles on the clock, but obviously it would not be recommended for you to purchase these examples. Instead, find yourself a model with less than 60,000 miles on the clock, and a full service history to boot, and you’ll be on to a winner. What’s more is that, as I mentioned before, many used Audis that have been owned by companies or businessmen alike will have spent much of their lives cruising the motorways. Thus damage will be minimal and wear rather regular.
What else makes buying a used Audi a popular choice for used car buyers is the fact that most of Audi’s designs have changed very little of the past few years. Park your 2005 A4 next to a 2009 A5 and you’ll notice very little difference. Used Audis tend to carry a sort of timelessness to them. An epic solidarity that very few car manufacturers come close to recreating. Perhaps this is really just marketing hype sinking into the brain, or perhaps this is a real trait in used Audis.
There are so many methods of buying used cars these days that you’ll find a used Audi in virtually ever used cars forum or marketplace. There are literally thousands of used Audi bargains to be snapped up all over the country. Of course, as with any used car, always be sure to give the car a thorough inspection before signing the dotted line. Especially these days where cash is tight, nobody wants to be making any mistakes. But generally speaking, you can’t go wrong with a used Audi.
