Health insurance is often thought to be at the heart of the problem ofhealthcare the world over. From the United States to the European Union,healthcare and medical insurance costs are skyrocketing, and it seems like everybody’sgot an opinion on the issue. Entire branches of social sciences have croppedup around this issue and problem that is due to plague society for some timeto come yet. Schools, colleges, and universities now offer courses andresearch facilities and grants in the area of health and medical economics,for example. On the business side of things, a myriad and plethora ofadministration programs are offered by educational institutions. In thepublic sector, there’s public health administration. At the most prestigiousuniversities in the States, the topic of study is extremely popular, andthere isn’t a chance that the interest in these fields and areas will waneany time soon.Health insurance is also a great business to get into. It used to be a greatbusiness, and it continues to be a great business, producing huge profitsfor corporation share holders in the United States for the past decades.It’s widely reported that at a point in the late 90s, a very large insurercollected or had a say in one out of every four dollars spent on healthcarein the United States. And with the healthcare reform that was passed by theObama administration in 2010, things only look to be going up for healthcareinsurers, regardless of the reform’s take on so called preexistingconditions, which were the bane of many subscribers in the past. Not many insurance companies are looking for loopholes which will allow them to deny some pre-existing coverages.
