In the past, the market for a vehicle like the Mondeo had all but dried up, and as of late, there is little sign of any improvement. That might explain the complete retrofit that Ford has undertaken with the new Ford Mondeo. While the market for such a vehicle has dwindled a bit, with some of that many new features and design features of the new Mondeo, is appears that Ford is actively looking a whole new generation of potential Mondeo buyers. With what Ford has done with the new Mondeo, it is highly likely that what ford intends will actually happen.
The first thing that you will notice with the new Ford Mondeo is that is much larger than its predecessors. However, the large look is somewhat deceiving. While it looks to be a larger vehicle, it does not feel like it when driven. Once seated inside the Mondeo, you will notice a definite improvement in the cockpit design. The fit and finish are much better than the older Mondeo. Gone are the hard cheap plastics and in are the soft touch plastics, the low profile dash design and with the Titanium models, plenty of designer brushed aluminum as well. Plenty of headroom and sporty seats round out the Mondeo’s interior.
Under the hood of the Ford Mondeo you will have either the 140 horsepower 1.6-liter diesel motor. In the Titanium model you will also have the option of the 2.5-liter turbo charged motor for more power. Coupled with an excellent handling package, the Mondeo rides much more like an executive car. With excellent emissions and an average of 38 miles per gallon, the Mondeo offers very little surprises in fuel costs.
With the other features like its rating as one of the best in its class in regards to residual value and service and insurance cost that are about where they should be as well as a sticker price that has not been enlarged like the design has, makes the Ford Mondeo a good vehicle. With its many upsides and it newly designed features, the Mondeo can make you seriously reconsider purchasing a vehicle with a premium badge.
