My dad has just brought a used BMW from the internet, its second hand, so we all dreaded him coming home with an old banger. But surprisingly it looks really fantastic. I have very recently purchased a new car for the family, lovely motor which does everything we want and then some!. I must admit i did just rush in without doing my homework which is unlike me to be honest. I got a bit carried away with the salesman and before i knew what was happening i was taking the keys from him and signing the paperwork. There were luckily no problems but i forgot to ask about the tax, i could not see the car tax cost amount on the disc which was strange but maybe whoever did it just forgot. I also neglected to ask about the mot on the car, assumed it had one because he let me drive away but i didn’t ask when it runs out or anything. I was wondering if there was some sort of mot enquiry line maybe that i could call and would tell me based on the reg when the mot was due. After looking i don’t think this exists but maybe someone should start one. The paperwork for the car was a bit patchy and had some mot certificates and not others which was a little worrying to be honest but still i had the certificate for the most recent one so i assume there can’t be much wrong if anything. Coming back to the car tax i did get a bit of a shock when i went to tax it because as said i had no idea how much it was supposed to be. It seems that the bigger the car the more tax you pay but this seems to jump up huge amounts which im shocked at!
